Cornwall Discovered’s day experiences are designed and operated by working closely with the local Cornish community. We pride ourselves on offering day experiences which encompass the hidden highlights of Cornwall in a way that works with local businesses and avoids many of Cornwall’s tourist hotspots. As part of our #cornwallaftercovid campaign, we feel that travellers will wish to be orienteered off the beaten Cornish trail now more than ever, and this sentiment is reflected particularly in our ‘Discover with Distance’ and ‘Slow Tour’ programmes.
All of our day experiences are led by a Cornwall Discovered representative who will give insightful local knowledge and escort the programme from start to finish to ensure that all works smoothly. Cornwall Discovered also partners with local historians, guides and experts in order to enhance the programmes and provide enrichment as outlined in the descriptions.
Group sizes and transportation will vary according to interest, but a minimum group size does apply for all day experiences as outlined in our Terms and Conditions. The below key gives some elements to bear in mind when choosing tours.
Avoiding small spaces and includes lots of fresh Cornish air!
Promoting train travel with meeting points at local train stations
Strong focus on the concept of ‘slow-touring’, with a relaxed pace and chance to experience local customs
Although we consider our programmes to suit all ages and interests, these particular programmes tend to be much more on the active side!
A day experience from the port of Falmouth or Fowey
