A day experience from the port of Falmouth or Fowey
Join your Cornwall Discovered representative for a day out in the city…with the Cornish twist! With a skyline that is dominated by Truro Cathedral, Cornwall’s only city is a cultural hotspot. Bustling with many independent shops and top restaurants and bars, one can easily wander the streets and let the day melt away around them. After a visit to the iconic cathedral, some free time and a ‘in perspective’ session with a local historian, it would only be fitting to dine in the city! After a delicious lunch we head to the outskirts of the city - the little hidden gem of Malpas. Enjoy a guided walk where you can take in the breath-taking views of both Truro itself from the river and the rolling countryside around.
Join your Cornwall Discovered representative for a morning interactive bookclub session set amongst the trees. Relax in our eco-friendly woodland-workshop and discuss the complex themes and mysterious plot of a classic Du Maurier novel. After a local Cornish lunch our Cornwall Discovered representative will take you on a scenic driving experience to trace some of Du Maurier’s steps – including Lanteglos Church where Du Maurier got married in 1932 and the Bodinnick ferry. After taking the ferry, meet a local expert for a guided and engaging walk through Fowey town with some free time to wonder through the quaint streets independently. End this Du Maurier inspired day with views of Gribben Head and across St Austell Bay.
Join your Cornwall Discovered representative for a morning of creativity set amongst the trees. Enjoy the sounds of the birds and the nearby stream as you relax in our eco-friendly woodland-workshop and embrace your artistic flair with an arts and craft session focussed on painting Cornish villages and landscapes. After lunch at a nearby pub, enjoy a leisurely stroll along the winding lane to learn about another creative process – the art of making gin! Spend a leisurely afternoon at this local distillery learning about the process and of course sampling the goods in a gin masterclass.
