4-night self-guided tour, with accommodation at some of Cornwall’s most iconic locations and all entrance fees and local recommendations taken care of! Already booked your accommodation in Cornwall? Any of our tours can be done without accommodation too!
The jutting outcrop of land on Cornwall’s south coast, known as the Lizard peninsula, for years has fascinated wildlife spotters, geography enthusiasts and botanists alike due to its unique and wondrous topography. From the iconic landscape of Kynance cove, with its purely solar powered café, to romantic and rural Frenchman’s Creek made famous by du Maurier’s novel of the same name, this journey will leave you marvelling at the southernmost tip of mainland Britain.
On our carefully constructed 4-night tour, local knowledge is literally right here at your fingertips, allowing you to discover parts of the county more usually missed by the casual tourist. With our help you will experience dramatic rock formations, significant historical landmarks and achievements, fascinating flora and fauna and a sense of being in one of the most remote and remarkable parts of The Duchy.
Arrive in Cornwall and check in to your hotel. This afternoon has been left free for you to relax after your journey and settle in before your Cornwall Discovered adventure starts. Perhaps have a look through the app and try out an evening dinner recommendation, or just enjoy reading through the abundance of local information at hand. Your sea facing hotel is a perfect location for the next three nights.
Today’s adventure starts with a visit to Britain’s most southerly port, in an area that can recall many tragic shipwrecks. The app will both direct you there (on land!) and provide detailed and insightful information about this charming fishing village which is now somewhat of a foodie haven. Afterwards, it is time for an ‘abandon the car’ afternoon, to explore three of the most beautiful Cornish coves. As always, we believe there should be time for a #2minutebeachclean. Once back at your hotel, it is time for a well-deserved tipple of your choice overlooking the sea
Today once again we promote an ‘abandon the car’ day, and when you are so close to one of the most beautiful sections of the southwest coast path, why wouldn’t you want to set out on foot?! Make sure you have your camera with you today, because some of the most incredible scenery awaits you. Be guided by our recommendations and as always, we are happy to take care of any reservations for you. Do not forget to take note of our local bus information today, just in case!
Check out of your hotel. First visit one of the most picturesque fishing communities in Cornwall for a stroll with the guidance of your app. Then head on the trail of Daphne du Maurier. Armed with insightful information, witness a gentler side of this part of Cornwall – full of winding Cornish lanes, hidden creeks and romantic stories.
On the final day of your programme, it is time for seeing ‘Subtropical Britain’ at its best. With your entrance fee and booking slot taken care of, explore these spectacular gardens on the edge of the beautiful Helford River. After sampling local produce in their ethical and sustainable kitchen, it is time to head homewards or continue your Cornwall journey.
