4-night self-guided tour, with accommodation at some of North Cornwall’s best hotels and all entrance fees and local recommendations taken care of! Already booked your accommodation in Cornwall? Any of our tours can be done without accommodation too!
The stretch of Cornwall’s dramatic Atlantic coast from King Arthur’s Tintagel, to Rick Stein’s Padstow, provides you with a contrasting journey. From marvelling at the incredible ruins of Tintagel, a village shrouded in legend, to sampling some of Cornwall’s finest produce in the cosmopolitan fishing port of Padstow on the Camel Estuary, your senses are sure to be heightened. With a bit of Doc Martin thrown in as well, it is easy to feel like you’re on a film set!
On our carefully constructed 4-night tour, local knowledge is literally right here at your fingertips, allowing you to discover parts of the county more usually missed by the casual tourist. With our help you will experience sweeping bays, historical wonders, unique fishing villages and dramatic landscapes. Whether it is your first or your hundredth time here, we hope that you will never want to leave. Seeing as we cannot guarantee the absence of that other great Cornish tradition, the rain, be reassured that the rugged beauty of this section of the Atlantic coastline is unmatched come rain or shine.
Arrive in Cornwall and check in to your hotel. This afternoon has been left free for you to relax after your journey and settle in before your Cornwall Discovered adventure starts. Perhaps have a look through the app and try out an evening dinner recommendation, or just enjoy reading through the abundance of local information at hand. Your boutique hotel is the perfect setting for a couple of nights.
Today is all about exploring King Arthur’s Tintagel, but first, in true Cornwall Discovered fashion, we want to show you a hidden gem not far away from this famous village. The app will both direct you there and provide detailed and insightful locally written information about this little secret. Afterwards, relax in the knowledge that your entrance fee to Tintagel Castle is taken care of and historical information is at your fingertips. Back at your hotel, it is time to reflect on all the myths and legends, perhaps over a pint of Cornwall’s finest!
Here at Cornwall Discovered we love a good TV series – and Cornwall has been the setting of so many. This part of Cornwall is home to a famous grumpy Doctor, and it would be a shame not to include a quick visit to Port Isaac. In the afternoon, we reset our compass and head off-the-beaten-track again and, with the help of the app, discover one of North Cornwall’s most breath-taking sections of coastline. There’s always time for a quick beach clean before it is time to head to the Camel Estuary. A new overnight location awaits you.
Today we promote an ‘abandon the car’ day, and when you are so close to one of the most beautiful cycle routes in the country, why wouldn’t you?! Plus of course, your cycle hire is already booked and paid for…so it is time to start earning your pasty lunch! Just make sure you leave room for dinner, because when in Padstow, the finest cuisine is quite literally on your doorstep. Be guided by our recommendations and as always, we are happy to take care of dinner reservations.
Saving the best for last? Yes we are. On the final day of your programme, we recommend exploring one of the most stunning and rugged parts of Cornwall. With background information, guidance on one of the UK’s most well-loved headland walks, and a ‘live like a local’ lunch recommendation, be sure to leave Cornwall or continue your holiday on a high.
